After a bit of illness, back to screen print

Finally back to screen printing. After a few days of an awful flu like bug I have decided just to power through and am printing the final design stage before I decide on final prints for my Collections.
I put all my designs so far onto screens, and am combining them in different colours and layers to create a variety of prints.

So organised with the colours, all numbered, mixing recipes written down.
2 reversed 3 colour prints.

possible final colour way, gold and dove grey.

New designers.

Monday is the big day.
On monday the tutors will be deciding on which students will be picked to go to new designers. I am led to believe there are 24 places and 61 people eligible. Fingers crossed.
I've already submitted my proposal of reasons why I should go. Here are a few pictures of my work up in my space in preparation, also a picture of what I was working on in the print room on friday. A few foil experiments for one of my design collections.

Finally some fabric

After printing the first layer of one of my wallpaper drops I decided to do some fabric print tests. Ended up with a few nice colour combinations and image designs. Helpful to see some samples before I start Finishing off the image designs.

Really pleased with the above colour way, nice bright red which stands out as I planning for the Fabric collection to be brighter than the muted shades I'm using in my wallpaper collection.

Another successful colourway. I've been experimenting with printing a lighter colour on top of a darker one which creates a third lighter colour where they overlap.

Possibly £ layers is too much but something I will look at further as it may work better when there is more consideration of how each layer joins up.

Progress

Today I printed the first layer of my first full length wallpaper drop.
I printed it in 3 stages, as the design is divided into 3 parts.
It went really well, very efficient and clean.

Finished First layer of the length. There will eventually be another layer of black foil over the top. excited to see the finished product!
Also I got a friend to take some in action shots of screen printing, thanks to rachel to helping out.

Foiling foiling and more foiling

Today, as well as stripping, coating and exposing the screens for my first drop of wallpaper (possibly just a test), I was doing some foil experiments.
Most did not come out at all how I envisioned but I always like when this happens.
As well as This I have also decided on 2 colour ways for my colour wallpaper drops, they're only 2 of a few though. It a start.

Possible final wallpaper drop designs

These are some final designs for my wallpaper collections. I'm pretty sure they are  going to be used for the black and white collection and I may use them as one of the layers in the colour designs too.
Feed back always welcome

Casual day at uni: mexican wrestlers came to visit

Little bit of messing about for a friends photo-shoot. Definite career option if designer doesn't work out?
