Final Major Project: Ritual and Suspicion.

Final major project is well under way and its about time I did some blog posting.
My title for this project is Ritual and Suspicion, so i'm concentrating my research around African objects which hold spiritual significance and are used in rituals and ceremonies.
Objects like masks, tradition dress and costume, symbolic objects such as spoons, stools and staffs used in masquerades etc.
As with previous projects, the objects i draw tend to be ones which have patterned areas and textural surfaces which produce interesting marks for developing into designs.

For initial research I concentrated on the performances/ masquerades themselves then started to look into the objects used within these ceremonies and traditional dances.
